Our client is a well established company based in central Reading looking for a part-time Receptionist. The role is to replace someone who is retiring and is a lovely role with a lovely company. The role is to work every Thursday and Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Purpose of the job
- To provide an efficient and friendly reception to the company's clients and visitors.
- Efficient and friendly switchboard services.
- Holiday cover for other Receptionist & Facilities Assistants.

- To contribute to the smooth unhindered operation of reception, telephone and facilities services in support of staff.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Efficient reception desk operation, ensuring that all the clients and visitors are properly greeted and attended to, and are referred to the appropriate department without delay.
- Care of all waiting clients and visitors, and assisting in ensuring that the reception area is presentable and tidy.
- Efficient telephone system operation, referral of telephone calls to the appropriate individuals, and the taking and prompt delivery of telephone messages via email.
- Provision of cover, as requested from time to time, for other Facilities Office staff, especially during holiday periods, sickness etc.
- Efficient operation of the answer phone, prompt passing on of all appropriate messages.
- Dealing with the internal and external emails, forwarding them on to the correct department, and keeping the system up to date.
- To perform other Reception or Facilities Office related duties as requested from time to time.
- To liaise with the Facilities Manager concerning any problems relating to the above activities.
