Information Technology Specialist (Infosec)

You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the COMMAND INFORMATION OFFICE, OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

• You will coordinate a variety of security issues with other commands, higher echelons, and external organizations to address cybersecurity requirements.
• You will evaluate the impact of new laws and guidance on current programs and systems and recommend changes to existing plans and policies to ensure compliance and responsiveness.
• You will review IT and control systems programs to assess overall compliance with cybersecurity plans and policies, and alignment with business and mission requirements.
• You will maintain a repository of all command cybersecurity-related documentation.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
• Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification as a CISSP, ISSMP, OR GSLC.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (461) and (722), proficiency level BASIC.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
• You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Leading cybersecurity projects, having a mastery of advanced IT and cybersecurity principles, with the skill to develop, interpret, and implement policies and strategies governing an enterprise cybersecurity program.
• Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, DoD/DON cybersecurity requirements, and Cybersecurity Commissioning (CYCX) process.
• Providing expert technical advice on critical cybersecurity issues, lead incident response efforts, and make recommendations that significantly influence command IT policies.
• Inspiring, motivating, and guiding a technical team.
• Managing POA&M entries to ensure vulnerabilities are tracked and resolved.
