An opportunity has arisen to join a growing team of freight forwarders based at their Head Office in Essex. The company deals with a wide range of goods and covers all aspects of air, sea and road freight, along with courier, warehousing and project forwarding. The role will be working within the Import department covering European Road, Sea and Air freight consignments as well as UK Road freight.
Purpose of the role: To manage both Import consignments for Air, Road and Sea freight from start to finish.
Duties to include:
- Quoting for customers
- Placing bookings on the system
- Dealing with overseas agents and partners
- Liaising with UK offices
- Managing the logistics and transportation of goods
- Liaison with customers to update them on timely and efficient delivery
- Liaising with suppliers
- Customs clearance
- An opportunity to learn other aspects of the freight business which the company offers
Requirements:
Experience of freight forwarding is essential although training can be provided in areas such as Airfreight or Customs procedures or areas requiring further training/experience.
