Job Description
Our clients specialise in providing an end-to-end customs solutions for their clients within Air, Road and Sea freight Imports and Exports and are currently looking for an Import Customs Clearance specialist for their Ipswich/Felixstowe office.
Purpose of the role:
To provide end-to-end customs clearance for Import shipments for both European Road freight Import shipments and Container sea freight Import shipments.
Duties will include:
- Responsible for managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments
- Handling Import customs entries for both container and trailer freight Import shipments including some complex customs entries.
- Ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and company procedures is met.
- Liaising with customs authorities and clients.
- Ensuring timely release of cargo
- Liaising with hauliers to arrange some container freight deliveries.
- Liaising with customers and maintaining excellent customer service
- Providing guidance to junior team members
Requirements
Experience required:
- You will need to have experience of working within either a customs brokerage, a shipping line or freight forwarders and be able to input customs entries into port systems.
- You will be aware of customs regulations and compliance.
- You will have good customer service skills
- Have good attention to detail.
