We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Senior Security Design Engineer / Solution Architect to lead the design and development of innovative, cost-effective, and customer-focused security solutions. This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering robust technical designs and commercially compelling solutions, ensuring seamless transition from bid stage through to project delivery and service support. You will play a key role in shaping modern, technology-led security architectures, leveraging the latest advancements to deliver exceptional value to customers.
The Role
- Lead the design of high-quality, compliant, and commercially viable security solutions
- Translate customer requirements into clear, documented, and deliverable system designs
- Support the full bid lifecycle, providing technical input into tender submissions and proposals
- Produce detailed specifications, schematics, and design documentation
- Conduct site surveys and client consultations to define project requirements
- Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Delivery teams to ensure aligned solutions
- Drive innovation, incorporating emerging technologies into solution design
- Ensure smooth handover from design to delivery and service teams
- Review and approve designs prior to submission to clients
- Support supplier and subcontractor engagement for accurate and competitive pricing
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Electronic Security System Design
- Strong knowledge of CCTV (IP & Analogue), Access Control, Intruder Detection & PSIM systems
- Experience designing integrated and enterprise-level security solutions
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, wireless technologies)
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualisation – VMware/Hyper-V)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud)
- Understanding of cyber security principles within system design
- Ability to produce high-quality technical proposals and tender responses
- Experience with design tools (e.g. Visio, JVSG) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality, and performance
