Our client is on the hunt for a talented Technical Underwriter (aka Inherent Defects Underwriter) to join their team. As a key player in this role, you'll be responsible for technical underwriting, policy wordings, and contractual documentation - the perfect opportunity to expand your expertise and make a real impact.
Responsibilities:
- Drive improvements in quality and current practices
- Ensure all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements are met
- Deliver top-notch internal technical underwriting services by evaluating and analysing applications to determine risk levels and cover limits
- Use data analytics to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement in underwriting processes and pricing
- Collaborate with the claims department to review and analyse claims data, identifying potential areas of underwriting improvement
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure underwriting practices comply with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Contribute towards loss ratio control by effectively adhering to the company's plans
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Head of Technical Underwriting
