As Electrical Design Manager you will oversee Building Services design elements on major schemes across various developments, overseeing and signing off on consultants designs, and having overall responsibility for technical excellence and ensuring that designs are accurate, innovative, and are solutions that achieve the clients’ desired requirements.
Responsibilities
- Managing external consultants, main contractors and clients to develop MEP designs within budget and on time
- Verify external consultant designs including a detailed analysis of IES, Revit and Hevacomp data
- Ensuring designs are delivered in accordance with BG2, 3, 4 & 5 suite of documents
- Development of concept designs and management of key deliverables
- Attending client and design team meetings
- Preparation of excel spreadsheets and power point presentations
- Develop new and existing business opportunities
- Agree subconsultants’ scope of works, BG6 and DRM roles & responsibilities
- Carry out elements of design to assist internal departments for tender and procurement and then through to delivery completion
Requirements
- HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Services design with a consultancy or contractor.
- Knowledge of design principles using IES VE and Revit
- Experience of delivering projects to RIBA/BSRIA stages of work.
- Knowledge of the various codes of practice including CIBSE/HTMs, British Standards, 18th Edition (Elec), CDM, BREEAM and Building Regs.
