Engel & Jang, an exceptional restaurant situated on the Mezzanine of the iconic Royal Exchange in the heart of the City of London.
We are looking for an experienced, confident and personable
Receptionist to join our Front of House team. Start date
September 2026.
The ideal candidate will have a warm and professional approach, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional and friendly welcome to all guests.
- Manage reservations, guest enquiries and table allocations efficiently.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Work closely with the restaurant and management teams to ensure a smooth guest journey.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of the restaurant, menus, events and services.
- Assist with managing special requests and ensuring important guest information is communicated to the relevant teams.
- Maintain a polished and organised reception area.
- Deliver consistently high standards of hospitality and guest service.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a Receptionist or similar Front of House role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and telephone manner.
- Warm, confident and professional personality.
- Polished appearance and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong organisational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy Front of House team.
- A genuine guest-focused approach and passion for delivering exceptional hospitality.
- Experience with Seven Rooms is an advantage, but not essential.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
The Role
- 40-hour contract.
- Monday to Saturday operation – we are closed on Sundays.
