Our clients are Leeds’ finest provider of first class care and assisted living. The successful applicant would be joining a company whose ethos is about quality of life for both clients and their staff, with a wide range of company benefits, a great work life balance, and proven progression opportunities.
You would be employed as a roaming head chef within the Leeds area, based at a high quality care home catering for up to 80 residents, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinners for early evening meals, all made fresh in house, including all cakes and pastries, so a knowledge of basic bakery is a must.
Working within an 8 person team, with a head chef, assistant chef, 2 KA's, and 3 waiting staff, everything is set up here to allow you to succeed, from the very well supplied kitchen and kit, to the fresh food menus which you will be asked to contribute to designing, to the industry leading support and compliance procedures.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum 3 years working as a head chef/kitchen manager
- Ideally from a care home/school or contract catering background
- Have a minimum basic DBS check, enhanced the ideal
- Be comfortable being customer facing as the role requires consultation with patients for dietary needs
- Experience managing teams in a fast paced kitchen environment
- Health & safety procedures including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards
- Proven chef and people management experience
- Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication
- Basic understanding of IDDSI
- Working with fresh seasonal produce
- Baking & cake making skills
- Have own means of transport as will be required to work in various sites around the Leeds area
