Sous Chef – Day time Café & Restaurant

£30,000 | 40 Hours | Daytime Shifts Only

Dish Hospitality is recruiting a Sous Chef to join a busy garden centre café and restaurant, serving up to 120 covers in a popular all-day dining environment.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to lead the team and maintain high standards of food quality and service. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on chef who enjoys a busy kitchen but wants to enjoy a better work-life balance, with daytime shifts and no late-night finishes.

The Role

• Support the Head Chef in running the kitchen and managing the team.

• Help deliver consistent, quality food throughout busy all-day services.

• Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation and hygiene.

• Assist with stock control, ordering, waste management and kitchen organisation.

• Lead by example, supporting and developing junior chefs.

• Help ensure smooth service during busy weekends and peak trading periods.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up.

• Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume café or restaurant kitchen.

• A positive, hands-on approach with good leadership and organisational skills.

• Passionate about food quality, consistency and customer satisfaction.

• Reliable, flexible and happy to work a 5-over-7 rota.

What’s on Offer?

• £30,000 per annum

• 40 hours per week

• Shifts between 8:30am and 5:00pm

• Five days over seven, including weekends on a rota

• Daytime hours only – no evening or late-night shifts
