Duties

  • You will develop problem tracking databases for trend analysis.
  • You will configure desktop hardware and peripherals (e.g., network cards, printers, video cards, scanners, or similar items) to minimize disruptions of computer operations.
  • You will interview information technology (IT) system users to ascertain system issues and lead them through diagnostic procedures.
  • You will plan delivery of information technology (IT) customer support services (e.g., hardware or software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, or similar services) for an organization.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 411, proficiency level intermediate.

Qualifications

FOR GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Preparing network orders and Invoice validation for Information Technology (IT) services;
  • Providing programmatic support with government and commercial service providers of Emergency Land Mobile Radio (ELMR) system operations;
  • Following procurement procedures to ensure appropriate interaction with contracted providers of IT services;
  • Supporting Public Safety Network (PSNET) related projects such as automated gates and turnstiles at entry control panels.

FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Assisting in preparing network orders and Invoice validation for Information Technology (IT) services;
  • Assisting in the review and coordination of IT requirements in order to successfully plan and manage provision of IT services;
  • Utilizing IT Information Assurance to ensure compliance with directives and appropriate response to information assurance incidents.

Education

Applicants may qualify with the following education in lieu of the specialized experience qualification:

  • For GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
  • For GS-9: Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
