Housing Management Specialist

Duties

• You will research and investigate new or improved business/management practices for application to Public Private Venture (PPV) programs.
• You will conduct technical family housing studies in order to recommend changes, improvements, and reductions in operations and management areas.
• You will update written internal operation procedures to provide guidance to staff on housing process (e.g., housing assignment, referral process, termination).
• You will evaluate management, maintenance, and operating costs and analyze current and past expenditures.
• You will monitor housing construction and renovation projects and long-range maintenance items.
• You will communicate process and planning efforts with senior specialists, the Regional Housing Director and Program Manager.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
• You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Monitoring the implementation of public-private venture housing and facilities agreements;
• Managing resources for the efficient operation and utilization of housing projects or facilities;
• Analyzing current and past operations and expenditures to determine future requirements for housing goals;
• Evaluating and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of housing processes and procedures.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.

• This position is subject to the possibility of workdays on weekends and holidays, as mission requires.
• The staff member may be recalled to duty and/or required to work overtime, including on an emergency basis.
