Purpose of the Role: To manage engineering stock and stores, support maintenance scheduling, and ensure smooth operation of engineering activities, contributing to operational efficiency, safety, and production standards.
Client Brief: A leading manufacturing facility seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering Coordinator to join their team.
KEY INFORMATION
- Reason for Vacancy: Ongoing operational requirement within the Engineering team
- Contract: Full time, permanent
- Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
- Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, occasional flexible hours as required
- Holidays: Standard entitlement + Bank Holidays
- Facilities: Paid breaks, full PPE & uniform, modern facilities, on-site welfare facilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control and maintain engineering stores, including stock ordering and receiving new parts.
- Carry out regular stocktakes and implement a controlled stock system via CMMS (Agility).
- Produce preferred supplier lists, negotiate prices, and generate expenditure reports.
- Administer the CMMS system, including user accounts, PPM checklists, schedules, and reports.
- Support co-ordination of machinery schedules and planned work.
- Assist with scheduling of work orders as required.
- Support contract and contractor administration, including permits to work.
- Monitor site utilities and complete meter readings.
- Ensure all sign-off procedures are followed and CMMS inputs are accurate.
- Maintain Health & Safety policies, participate in risk assessments, and create safe systems of work.
- Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of activities, progress, and results.
- Understand engineering terms, critical components, production processes, and SOPs, suggesting improvements where applicable.
Key Skills Required
- Experienced engineer, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to move engineering stock (manual lifting required).
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive, positive "can do" attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised, calm under pressure, friendly, approachable, and flexible.
- Computer literate, with experience using CMMS and Microsoft Office packages.
