Are you an experienced file checker, paraplanner or compliance professional who knows what good financial advice looks like — and can help advisers achieve it?
Phoenix Talent Partners is working with a financial services business looking for a knowledgeable File Checker to review advice files, assess quality and provide constructive feedback that genuinely supports advisers in delivering good client outcomes.
This role is about more than ticking boxes.
It’s about understanding advice standards, identifying areas for improvement and helping advisers get things right.
What you’ll be doing:
🔹 Reviewing advice files against current regulatory requirements and advice standards.
🔹 Providing clear, constructive feedback to advisers to improve quality and consistency.
🔹 Identifying gaps, risks and areas for development.
🔹 Supporting advisers to understand and meet expected quality standards.
🔹 Helping maintain a strong focus on good client outcomes and regulatory compliance.
What we’re looking for:
✅ Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent Level 4 qual.
✅ Current knowledge of financial advice standards and regulatory expectations.
✅ Experience reviewing advice files, ideally within an IFA/financial planning environment.
✅ The confidence and communication skills to challenge constructively, explain findings and support adviser development.
✅ A balanced, practical approach — able to recognise good practice as well as identify areas for improvement.
