About the role

Kent is seeking an Environmental Specialist based in the UK to join the new Environmental Team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the team, focusing on delivering environmental and sustainability assessments such as EIAs within the UK energy sector (low carbon, offshore wind, or oil and gas). The position involves technical delivery, project management, and business development support, reporting to the Environmental Technical Lead for Low Carbon. Support and guidance will be provided to facilitate your career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver environmental and sustainability assessments under guidance.
  • Conduct environmental consultancy scopes for sectors like low carbon, offshore wind, or oil and gas.
  • Provide environmental support to engineering projects, including reviews, BAT studies, carbon accounting, and ENVIDs.
  • Support GIS and data management tasks for environmental assessments.
  • Author technical reports and support quality assurance processes.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and bids.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Engage with clients and develop relationships.
  • Support recruitment efforts for the team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Entry-level experience with EIAs or related assessments.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Working towards Chartership (e.g., CEnv).
  • Experience in the UK energy industry.
  • Ability to meet delivery and cost targets without compromising quality.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
  • Proficiency with GIS and data management tools.
  • Ability to produce high-standard technical reports.
  • Experience contributing to bids and proposals.
