Kent is seeking a Procurement Quality Control Supervisor to lead and support procurement quality activities, while ensuring the timely progression of client and engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. This role will initially be based at our Woking office, with a subsequent transfer to Saudi Arabia as the project progresses.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Compliance
    • Supervise and manage the performance of direct reporting quality staff.
    • Ensure full compliance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
    • Support the effective implementation of the Kent Management System.
    • Coordinate with management to drive continuous quality improvements.
  • Procurement Quality Oversight
    • Review procurement documents to ensure quality requirements are accurately reflected in Material Requisitions (MRs) and design documentation.
    • Verify documentation and certification for materials supplied by vendors.
    • Review supplier quality plans in line with contractual requirements.
    • Review suppliers’ inspection procedures and personnel qualifications.
    • Review supplier material certificates and documentation.
    • Monitor the progress of all purchase requisitions.
    • Review Purchase Orders to ensure compliance with approved Material Requisitions.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management
    • Review vendor QA/QC systems in accordance with contractual requirements.
    • Coordinate vendor quality approvals where required.
    • Participate in supplier audits and surveillance activities.
    • Monitor supplier performance, including manufacturing and fabrication progress.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Inspection & Testing Coordination
    • Supervise vendor source inspections (with approved vendor inspectors), including in-process and final inspections.
    • Coordinate inspection and testing activities, including COMPANY witnessing requirements.
    • Liaise with approved third-party inspection (TPI) agencies for inspections and final release.
    • Monitor and coordinate TPI agencies at vendor manufacturing and fabrication sites.
    • Plan, assign, and obtain client approval for qualified personnel carrying out inspections.
    • Ensure surveillance inspections are consistently performed and documented in line with the PQP.
  • Pre-Inspection & Inspection Activities
    • Prepare and supervise Inspection Assignment Packages (Level 1 and above) for submission to the client.
    • Coordinate and attend pre-inspection meetings (Level 2 and above).
    • Establish and issue agendas for pre-inspection meetings.
    • Finalise vendor inspection schedules and ensure adherence.
    • Clarify inspection requirements with vendors and confirm inspection planning.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare and submit Inspection Disposition Reports (IDRs) to the client.
    • Prepare Final Inspection Disposition Reports.
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, surveillance activities, and reports.
    • Ensure timely submission of all documentation to the client.
  • Non-Conformance & Issue Resolution
    • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
    • Monitor and report non-conformances identified during procurement and inspections.
    • Coordinate with discipline engineers to resolve technical discrepancies.
    • Liaise with client/owner representatives on procurement quality issues.
  • Planning & Coordination
    • Coordinate procurement schedules, including two-week lookahead plans and weekly reporting.
    • Ensure submission of 5-day inspection notifications in line with client requirements.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits, including vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
    • Work closely with Project Management and Quality teams on audit and compliance activities.
  • General Duties
    • Monitor fabrication of equipment, structural steel, precast, pre-engineered materials, and international supply items as required.
    • Maintain coordination with vendor inspection departments.
    • Attend procurement and inspection meetings.
    • Carry out any additional ad hoc duties as required.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

  • Engineering Degree holder with proven experience on procurement QC.
  • Supplier Quality Management certification (preferred).
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certification from a recognized organization.
  • Knowledge of and experience in quality management methodology.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as SAMSS and SAEPs, as per Saudi Aramco requirements.
  • Aramco EPC Project Experience and Approvals.

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

  • Commitment towards quality culture and implementation of management system.
