I went to visit a key client last week, and got to meet several of their pensions actuaries at different levels. I also spent quite a bit of time with several people at senior analyst and recently qualified level, with the aim of getting to know them and absorbing as much of the culture as I could over a few hours.
I must say I was honestly impressed by how relaxed everyone was, and how much effort goes into creating an environment where everyone can be themselves, wear what they like, and integrate with the whole team rather than just those who they’re directly working with. Some had always been at the company, others had joined from elsewhere but the number one reason they choose to be there now is because of the people they work with and the unique culture specific to the team. Just walking through the main office floor and seeing a noticeable difference between their office and the many others I’ve been to, both inside and outside of London, it genuinely had such a nice vibe.
I am particularly keen to speak with people who might like to get all the benefit of working for a fantastic business, but in a location with a very different feel to Central London. This could suit senior acturial analysts approaching qualification, or fully qualified pensions actuaries who live in South London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey for example, and who value having a workplace they can get to a few times/eek without having to go all the way to Central London.
Please get in touch if you’d like me to share the details!
