Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Registered Building Inspector (Class 2D+) to support a busy Building Control service on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a senior-level inspector who can provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with inspections and plan checking.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out complex site inspections across domestic and non-domestic projects
- Undertake and oversee plan checking for higher-risk and more complex schemes
- Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to other inspectors
- Act as a point of escalation for technical queries and compliance matters
- Ensure works comply with Building Regulations, legislation, and service standards
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Registered Building Inspector Class 2D or above
- Extensive experience within Building Control (local authority or approved inspector)
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of building types
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to support and guide others
- Excellent communication and professional judgement
