Channing School is seeking to appoint a highly organised, personable and proactive Admissions Assistant to join our Admissions Team from September 2026. This is a part‑time, permanent position working 24 hours per week over four days, term time plus two weeks. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in delivering an exceptional admissions experience for prospective families, ensuring every interaction reflects Channing’s welcoming community, values and ethos.
Working closely with the Registrar and Assistant Registrar, the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for many prospective parents and pupils, supporting all aspects of the admissions journey from initial enquiry through to enrolment. The role combines front‑facing responsibilities with detailed administrative work and requires someone who can build positive relationships with families while maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing admissions enquiries
- Conducting school tours
- Supporting open day events
- Coordinating relationships with feeder schools
- Maintaining pupil records
- Overseeing new joiner and leaver administration
- Supporting chance vacancy admissions processes
We are looking for a confident and professional administrator with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The successful candidate will be a warm and articulate communicator, capable of providing tailored information about the school and its unique educational offering to prospective families.
Salary & Benefits
Salary £33,500 per annum FTE (pro rata), dependent on qualifications and experience. Enrolment into the School’s non-contributory pension scheme with a 10% employer contribution.
