We are seeking a Cable Repair Technician to join our UK warehouse team and take responsibility for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of cables, connectors, and consumables. This is a hands-on, busy role focused on ensuring all cable stock is kept serviceable, safe, and ready for use across live event projects.
The Cable Repair Technician is responsible for carrying out high-quality repairs and maintenance of cables and connectors, ensuring equipment is returned to a safe and usable condition in line with company standards. The role also supports wider warehouse operations where required.
The role will be based at our Hertford warehouse. Occasional travel to our other UK locations, including Harlow, may be required short term to support operational requirements and projects. Travel costs associated with this transition will be covered by the company.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, test, repair, and maintain cables, connectors, and associated consumables
- Work closely with Goods-In to process returned equipment and identify damage or missing items
- Clean, label, colour code, and prepare cables for reuse in line with company standards
- Carry out PAT testing and ensure all cable stock remains safe and serviceable
- Maintain accurate cable records and update stock information using the asset management system
- Identify shortages of cables, connectors, or consumables and report accordingly
- Prepare and pull cables for jobs in line with operational requirements and schedules
- Maintain cable trunks and ensure equipment is organised and ready for reuse
- Support stock control, inventory checks, and equipment tracking
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with Health & Safety standards
- Assist with general warehouse duties including loading, unloading, and equipment movement when required
- Previous experience working with AV, lighting, power, or data cabling is essential
- Strong practical skills in cable testing, repair, and maintenance
- Good understanding of connectors, cable types, and industry standards
- Experience with PAT testing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
- Organised and able to manage workload effectively in a busy environment
- Comfortable using computer systems and asset management software
- Positive, hands-on, and team-oriented approach to work
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 25kg and working in an active warehouse environment
- Flexible and willing to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when required
- Ability and willingness to support occasional travel to other UK locations if required
