Overview: An opportunity has arisen with a repeat client who are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing engineering team developing embedded software for next-generation electronic control systems. A successful candidate will be working closely with experienced software, systems and hardware engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to exciting new technologies. This role is ideal for someone with 1+ year of commercial experience looking to make their first career move, with the opportunity to take ownership, develop their skills and contribute to new products and technologies within a growing engineering function. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain embedded software for prototype and production systems. Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to implementation, testing and deployment. Develop embedded C software and reusable libraries/components across multiple products. Plan and execute software testing, verification and validation activities. Collaborate closely with software, systems and hardware engineering teams in an agile environment. Follow and contribute to engineering, quality, safety and cybersecurity processes and standards. Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes. Required Skills & Experience: Commercial experience developing embedded software within a regulated environment. Strong C programming skills, ideally in safety-critical embedded applications. Good knowledge of MISRA C and embedded software development best practices. Experience with 32-bit CPUs, FPUs, interrupts, peripherals and real-time programming. Experience developing device drivers Understanding of software development, testing and quality processes. Experience with communication and development tools, such as Vector tools
