This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join a skilled engineering team. You will diagnose, test and repair a wide range of electronic systems, PCBs and assemblies down to component level. This is a hands-on role requiring strong practical electronics fault-finding skills.

About the Role

  • Diagnose and repair faults on electronic PCBs and assemblies down to component level.
  • Carry out detailed fault-finding using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic probes and other electronic test equipment.
  • Inspect incoming equipment and produce detailed condition assessment reports.
  • Replace and rework surface-mount (SMD) and through-hole components to appropriate IPC standards.
  • Test and validate repaired equipment to ensure it meets required performance and quality standards.
  • Produce clear and concise engineering reports covering diagnostics, repairs and test results.
  • Maintain accurate repair records and ensure full traceability in line with customer and company requirements.
  • Interpret circuit diagrams, technical documentation and component datasheets.
  • Work closely with engineering and operational teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Follow appropriate health and safety and quality procedures within a workshop environment.

About You

  • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Proven experience in electronics fault finding and repair down to component level.
  • Strong practical knowledge of electronic circuits and hardware.
  • Experience diagnosing faults using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers/probes and other test equipment.
  • Strong SMD and through-hole soldering and rework skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, circuit diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable diagnosing faults where schematics or documentation may be limited.
  • Good written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and contribute within a wider engineering team.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 or similar electronics workmanship standards.
