Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Engineering Analysis Team within the Product Engineering Analysis Group, delivering expert technical guidance across UKAEA.
- Oversee complex engineering activities from concept through to delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team, resolve key technical challenges, and collaborate with internal and external partners to drive innovation.
- Manage analysis and simulation activities across projects and work packages, ensuring technical delivery and compliance with relevant standards.
- Develop and execute technical plans, ensuring validation and successful project outcomes.
- Manage performance, training, recruitment, and resource planning, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to organisational processes.
Qualifications
- A relevant engineering master’s degree or equivalent level gained through experience.
- Attained chartered status with a relevant professional institution or with qualifications and experience sufficient to attain it within a year of appointment.
- Expertise in the application of simulation and analysis within at least one area of physics, with broader competence across other areas, and experience working to design-by-analysis standards (e.g. ASME VIII or PD5500).
- Experience defining and planning technical work packages and supervising staff in their execution.
- Good communication and technical skills with the ability to persuade and convince others in technical discussions.
- Experience with fusion-relevant environmental factors such as radiation, vacuum and transient magnetic fields.

Essential Information
