We are recruiting an MEP Document Controller to join a project team delivering a large-scale student residential development in Manchester. This is a long-term position, initially tied to the current scheme through to January 2028, with the intention of moving onto further projects thereafter.
You’ll be embedded within the site and project team, taking full ownership of MEP documentation control, ensuring all information is accurate, up to date, and issued in line with project and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, manage, and maintain document control systems for MEP packages
- Upload, issue, track, and archive drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation
- Ensure correct document numbering, revision control, and distribution
- Liaise closely with MEP contractors, consultants, and internal project teams
- Monitor document status and chase outstanding information where required
- Maintain drawing registers, transmittals, and document logs
- Support the project team with audits, handover documentation, and O&M manuals
- Ensure compliance with project procedures and information management standards
- Previous experience as a Document Controller on construction or building services projects
- Strong understanding of MEP documentation (mechanical, electrical, public health)
- Experience using common document control platforms (e.g. Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite, 4Projects or similar)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to deal with multiple stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced site or project environment
