Associate Director – Electrical Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Associate Director Electrical Engineer to join a growing building services team. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an engineer who can combine strong technical expertise with project leadership, client management and team development.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of technically complex and high-profile projects, including laboratories, critical environments, MOD research facilities and defence projects, working with major organisations including BAE Systems.
What you’ll be doing:
· Leading the electrical design and delivery of complex building services projects across all RIBA stages
· Providing technical leadership and ensuring high-quality, innovative design solutions are delivered
· Leading and mentoring electrical engineers, supporting their professional development and progression
· Managing client relationships and acting as a senior point of contact throughout project delivery
· Working closely with architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated designs
· Overseeing calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and other technical documentation
· Supporting fee proposals, bids, resource planning and wider business development activities
· Contributing to the strategic growth and development of the electrical engineering team
What we’re looking for:
· A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
· Chartered Engineer status
· Significant experience delivering electrical building services design on complex projects
· Proven experience leading projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
· Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, relevant standards and current legislation
· Experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit MEP; experience with Dialux, Relux, Amtech and NBS would be advantageous
· Strong commercial awareness and experience with fee proposals, bids and resource planning
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
· A proactive and strategic approach, with the ability to take ownership and make sound engineering decisions
Desirable:
· Experience working on laboratories, critical environments, research facilities or defence projects
· Experience working within MOD or other highly regulated environments
· MOD SC security clearance, or eligibility to obtain
· Experience developing client relationships and winning new work
· Strong project planning, financial management and reporting experience
