Position: KS1 Teacher Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Temporary Start Date: 8th September 2026 Location: Lewisham, London, UK Salary: £40,372 – £59,864 per annum (M1 – UPS3) Salary will be determined based on experience and placement on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary of £59,864 is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to UPS3. Hours of work: 8.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only). About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a friendly, inclusive primary school in Lewisham for an enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The school has a real focus on early literacy and numeracy, and you will be joining a supportive team of Key Stage 1 practitioners who share a commitment to helping every child build the foundations for a successful school journey. Class sizes are manageable, classrooms are well resourced, and you will be supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant. Key Responsibilities: • Planning, delivering and assessing engaging, well-differentiated lessons across the KS1 curriculum • Creating a stimulating, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels able to thrive • Working closely with a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs • Tracking pupil progress and using assessment to inform next steps in teaching • Building strong relationships with parents and carers and contributing to the wider school community • Attending staff meetings and INSET days, and contributing to whole-school initiatives • Maintaining high standards of behaviour management in line with the schools behaviour policy Requirements: To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (or a strong EYFS/KS2 background with transferable skills) • Confident, up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics teaching (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc, or similar) • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills • A genuine passion for early literacy and numeracy development • The right to work in the UK • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one) What the School Can Offer: • A warm, friendly and experienced staff team • Well-resourced classrooms and a supportive senior leadership team • A strong CPD and coaching culture • A diverse, inclusive school community • Good transport links across Lewisham and into central London Why work via Transparency Education?
