Lunchtime Supervisor – Primary School Location: Croydon, South London Salary: £14.24–£15.00 per hour Contract: Part-time, long-term temporary Start date: 28 September 2026 Are you caring, dependable and confident supporting children? A welcoming primary school in Croydon is looking for a Lunchtime Supervisor to help pupils enjoy a safe, positive and well-organised lunchtime. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and would like consistent, term-time work within a supportive school community. The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will work across the dining and playground areas, helping pupils develop positive social skills and encouraging safe, inclusive play. Responsibilities • Supervising pupils in the dining hall, playground and other designated areas • Encouraging positive behaviour, good manners and respectful interactions • Organising simple games and activities during outdoor play • Supporting younger pupils with their meals when required • Responding calmly to minor incidents and reporting concerns appropriately • Following the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures • Helping to ensure that lunchtime areas remain safe, clean and orderly Requirements • A patient, approachable and responsible manner • Confidence supervising groups of primary-aged children • Good communication and teamwork skills • The ability to manage minor disagreements calmly and fairly • Reliability and punctuality • Previous experience in a school, childcare or youth setting is desirable but not essential • An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one What the role offers • Regular part-time hours during the school day • A friendly and inclusive primary school environment • Support from experienced teaching and pastoral staff • A rewarding role helping children feel safe and included • Valuable school-based experience for candidates considering a career in education • Potential for the placement to continue on a long-term basis If you are an enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor who can help create a calm and enjoyable lunchtime experience, we would be pleased to hear from you.
