CNC Machinists (Grinders and EDM Operators) required for Weekend Day Shift 05:45 - 17:45 (Fri-Sun) to join a well-established, growing manufacturer supplying high-precision components to the aerospace and power generation industries. The role:
You’ll operate CNC machinery to produce high-quality, precision components, ensuring all work meets strict quality and customer standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating CNC Grinding or EDM Machines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification.
- Attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned.
- Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved action to resolve quality issues.
- Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement.
- Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc), as set by the Cell Manager.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.
- Working in full compliance with quality, safety and company procedures.
Requirements for the position of the CNC Operator:
- Demonstrated experience in CNC machining and/or a strong academic background in engineering, ideally supported by a recognised machining apprenticeship.
- Previous experience working with metal components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient in conducting self-inspection of machined components using manual measurement tools.
Desirables:
- Previous experience in CNC Grinding or EDM is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous.
- Positive attitude and a keenness to learn.
- Experience with CNC programme editing or basic G code adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem solving mindset.
