South Leicester | Friday–Sunday | 5:45am–5:45pm | £19.63 per hour | PermanentExcellent opportunity for an experienced CNC / Toolroom Machinist to join a leading aerospace manufacturer in South Leicester, working a three-day weekend shift covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We have recruited for this growing manufacturer for over 20 years. They manufacture precision components for the aerospace and industrial gas turbine industries and offer excellent working conditions, long-term stability and opportunities for development.
Working within the Toolroom, you will manufacture, modify and inspect specialist tooling and electrodes used to support the wider aerospace manufacturing operation.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position involving both CNC and conventional machining, including: Re-cutting electrodes using CNC milling machines and manual surface grindersManufacturing new electrodes using manual and CNC Toolroom machineryInspecting electrodes using CMM equipment and manual gaugesRe-grinding and manufacturing milling cutters using CNC cutter grindersCarrying out assembly and bench-fitting workWorking accurately from engineering drawingsResponding to production requirements to minimise manufacturing downtimeWorking closely with production and engineering departmentsProducing tooling accurately and to required quality standardsWhat We're Looking For Ideally, you will have: Previous practical experience within an engineering/manufacturing environmentMachining experience – ideally CNC and manual milling, grinding and turningAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience working with precision components or toolingCNC cutter grinding experience would be advantageousA recognised engineering qualification, Toolroom apprenticeship or equivalent would be advantageousStrong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skillsA willingness to learn and develop additional Toolroom skillsPay & Weekend Shift Basic rate: £15.70 per hourWeekend shift premium: 25%Weekend rate: £19.63 per hourFriday: 5:45am–5:45pmSaturday: 5:45am–5:45pmSunday: 5:45am–5:45pmThis offers the benefit of completing your normal working week across three 12-hour shifts.
Please note that the successful candidate will initially be required to work during the week for a period of training and familiarisation before moving onto the permanent weekend shift.
