The firm is a full-service law firm based in Harrogate. They are a down-to-earth, friendly firm with a total of 23 members of staff across our Leeds and Harrogate offices, and further expansion plans in 2026. The firm is a thriving and expanding law practice committed to serving individuals and businesses with an enviable client base. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an experienced private client team.
The right candidate will have the opportunity for training and development and will assist with work within the department with the possibility of running a small and simple caseload with supervision and training.
As a private client paralegal working in the private client department, you will deal with all manner of private client work to include Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, probate administration and Court of Protection applications. This will include:
- Corresponding with clients and dealing with initial enquiries
- Quoting, opening files and dealing with initial paperwork
- Drafting legal documents
- Dealing with third parties such as the land registry, HMCTS and HMRC
- Managing client expectations
- Updating databases and case management software
The team will take an active interest in your training and development in this post.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working within a private client team/environment
- Have strong client care service skills and be able to work to various deadlines
- Possess excellent organisational and time-management skills and work well under pressure
- Have excellent IT skills; experience using case management systems is desirable
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Have very good verbal and written communication skills
- Have a clear understanding of confidentiality/Data Protection
- Have the ability to work in a team, whilst having the initiative to work alone
- Have a full clean driving license (ideally)
- Live locally
