Job Role
Drive the minibus on organised trips to pre-planned locations.
Maintain a safe and secure environment on the minibus reporting and recording areas/issues of concern.
Undertake basic safety checks on the vehicle prior to each trip.
Undertake health & safety risk assessments in relation to passengers, journeys and trip destinations.
Receive relevant information from staff as appropriate including resident information.
Flexible days and times (we ask for a commitment of 2 hours each week).
Attributes
Ability to initiate and engage in conversation with an older person.
Good communication and listening skills.
Ability to follow and understand instructions. Good attention to detail. Calm in times of pressure or emergencies – e. g. reporting and managing incidents.
Able to deal with potentially difficult situations using initiative and intuition with the ability to work alone.
Reliability and sense of responsibility.
Additional mandatory training for this role: MIDAS Basic health and safety Manual handling Basic first aid.
We don’t want finances to be a barrier to contribution.
Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel from your home to your volunteering location, will be reimbursed.
This role is subject to enhanced DBS Check, which will be carried out by St Monica Trust.
