Increase connection, spiritual well-being and fulfilment by supporting residents to attend and participate in a service of Christian worship led by our pastoral care team.
Job Role:
- Accompany residents to a service of worship.
- Promote a comfortable environment where residents can contribute and get the most out of their worship.
- Help residents take part in the service (e.g. help finding hymn numbers, following service sheet etc.).
Attributes:
- Ability to initiate and engage in conversation with an older person.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- A warm, friendly personality that enjoys interacting with people from all backgrounds and abilities.
We don’t want finances to be a barrier to contribution. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel from your home to your volunteering location, will be reimbursed. This role is subject to enhanced DBS Check, which will be carried out by St Monica Trust. We are committed to value equality and diversity in every aspect of St Monica Trust life.
Volunteers will NOT be expected to undertake any personal care tasks; have any involvement in medication; conduct manual handling tasks without prior training and authorisation.
