Location: Working across our London sites.
Hours: Night shifts, 4 on / 4 off 8pm - 7am.
Salary: Starting salary, salary increases with length of service.
The role: As a Senior Night Porter you will support our Night Porters across our London sites, setting the right example in customer service and behaviour throughout the night shifts and ensuring resident and building safety is maintained across the sites. You will either be travelling between sites or covering a shift on site.
Main responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a strong understanding of the role of a Night Porter and of the procedures for each of the Scape sites.
- Supporting, training, and supervising new and existing Night Porters across Scape sites.
- Full understanding and dedication to our health and safety policy, operational procedures, risk assessments and method statements at all sites.
- Maintaining a strong and ongoing rapport with General Manager, Residence Managers and the Night Porters with the aim of building strong and diligent cover at our sites by offering constant feedback to continuously improve our service offering.
- Involvement in all group training sessions for Night Porters to develop team members in their role and share best practice.
- Leading by example and acting as a role model for Scape Night Porters.
- Providing flexibility and covering Night Porter shifts across the sites as and when required.
- Providing a knowledgeable and friendly welcome to all students and guests whether in person or over the phone.
- Ensuring that the building entrances/exits are secure out of hours to prevent unauthorised access.
- Assisting with the general upkeep of the building carrying out some general housekeeping tasks.
- Raising maintenance requests for students and identifying general building maintenance.
- Reporting incidents and accidents to your manager / General Managers / Residence Managers.
- Keeping accurate records and completing handovers where required.
- Responding to and logging enquiries, working with your General Manager / Residence Manager where needed.
- Handling and logging complaints professionally and compassionately, escalating them to the General Manager / Residence Manager for resolution.
- Handling post and parcels for our students efficiently and carefully, logging all signed for deliveries.
- Work with the Operations Manager to provide suggestions and improvements to support the night team and overall Scape experience.
- To undertake any other duties as and when required that are commensurate with the role.
About you:
- Flexibility in locations and available to work across all Scape sites including but not limited to Shoreditch, Wembley, Guildford.
- Trustworthy and responsible, able to set the right example to other Night Porters.
- Organised, flexible and dedicated.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional manner alongside a passion for excellent service.
- Dependable, enthusiastic and works well within a team.
- Approachable and prepared to have open and supportive communication with our residents.
- Ability to lead, motivate and train other Night Porters.
- To have extensive experience working nights on a lone working basis.
- To have worked in a front of house role, demonstrating exceptional customer service.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and experienced with learning new systems.
Onboarding requirements:
- Any offers will be subject to 3 years of satisfactory references and satisfactory DBS check.
- This role requires a driving license and suitable vehicle.
- This is a night working role, the candidate must have the ability to remain alert throughout the shift.
