YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE ELECTRICAL SECTOR TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE. My client is a specialist in the power distribution market. Due to their ongoing success, they have an opportunity for a Test Engineer / Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team. The role will be workshop based and will involve:
- Performing electrical inspection and testing of switchgear, LV switchboards, panelboards and distribution boards ensuring all are built correctly and meet quality and safety standards.
- Checking that devices fitted into panels replicate information included in loading schedules, schematics and drawings.
- Checking that all conductive connections have been torqued to manufacturer’s specifications and marked accordingly to ensure safety of the final product, in line with quality procedures.
- Documentation of test results and commissioning of meters.
- Identifying non-conformities and removing from production and filling in NCR report following safety protocols during all testing operations.
- Liaising with production and operation teams to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 3 electrical installation diploma or proven experience in the electrical industry.
- Should be competent working with live electrical power systems and be able to carry out self-isolations and connect/disconnections of power supplies.
- Experienced working with SP and TP distribution equipment is essential, should have a wide knowledge of electrical manufacturers' products and functionality.
- The ability to read and follow equipment instruction manuals and set up components.
- Knowledge of test equipment and experience in its use is required.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering results.
- Ability to work both alone and as part of a collaborative production team.
- Good time management and liaison skills are required to ensure delivery requirements, commitments and expectations are met.
