My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Intermediate HVAC Building Services Design Engineer to join their dynamic and growing team, operating in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design of HVAC systems, including ventilation, heating, comfort cooling, domestic systems, and drainage, across a wide range of new build and refurbishment retail schemes nationwide. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a variety of blue-chip clients in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HVAC Design: Prepare detailed HVAC designs, layouts, and schematics for both preliminary and construction stages, focusing on heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic services, and drainage systems for diverse retail projects.
  • Site Surveys & Reports: Undertake site surveys and produce detailed reports to ensure that practical design solutions are developed and implemented effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to deliver fully compliant and coordinated HVAC design solutions. Ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Site Support: Attend site meetings as required to support the project delivery team and ensure that design implementation meets the project’s requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience working on HVAC system designs, including heating, ventilation, comfort cooling, domestic systems, and above-ground drainage services.
  • Proficiency in performing design calculations using software such as Hevacomp.
  • Strong ability to create layout and schematic drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, relevant HVAC/Water legislation, and CIBSE guidance documents.
  • Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
