Why You Will Love this Job

The Role:

  • Manage the hire and return process of Rehlko generator sets for clients.
  • Carry out planned service and maintenance on generator sets to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Respond to breakdowns and malfunctions, minimising downtime for customers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on generator control panels, including replacements when required.
  • Perform Load Banking and mains failure testing on-site, as per client requirements.
  • Stay up to date with training and development to continually enhance technical expertise.
  • Produce accurate, detailed reports and submit daily updates in line with company standards.
  • Work closely with the internal service team to coordinate repairs, scheduling, and customer support.

The Person:

  • Time-served engineer or NVQ Level 3 qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Previous experience with generators is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including engines and alternators.
  • Willing to work overtime, including some mid-week, weekend shifts, and occasional overnight stays.
  • Flexible to take part in an on-call rota when required.
  • Confident in carrying out risk assessments and working safely on-site.
  • Prior experience in a mobile engineering role is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with a wide range of customers.
  • Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
