An established and growing independent fire and security company is looking to recruit an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join their team due to continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded business with a strong local client base, offering stability, development, and long-term progression.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out service, maintenance, and fault finding on a range of electronic fire and security systems across commercial and residential sites, including social housing, student accommodation, and similar environments. The role will primarily cover Manchester and the surrounding areas, with participation in a call-out rota required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of fire alarm systems
  • Maintenance and fault finding on security systems (e.g. intruder alarms, CCTV, access control)
  • Testing and maintenance of emergency lighting
  • Attending reactive call-outs and resolving system faults efficiently
  • Ensuring all work complies with current fire safety regulations and industry standards
  • Completing accurate service reports and documentation
  • Providing a professional and customer-focused service when dealing with clients on-site

About You

  • Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and associated regulations
  • Experience working on security systems such as intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control
  • Confident carrying out fault finding and maintenance works independently
  • Up-to-date knowledge of fire safety regulations
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to take part in an out-of-hours call-out rota
