We are looking for a skilled Press Brake Operator to join the production team for a top-tier trailer manufacturer in Northern Ireland. This role is at the very start of the manufacturing process—you’ll be responsible for taking raw steel sheets and precision-folding them into the structural components that form the backbone of the trailers.

The Role

  • Machine Setup: Select, change, and align tooling (dies and punches) based on material thickness and required bend angles.
  • CNC Operation: Load programs and adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy throughout the production run.
  • Precision Folding: Execute complex bends on mild and high-tensile steel, ensuring parts are consistent and within tolerance.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and flat-pattern layouts to determine bend sequences and dimensions.
  • Quality Inspection: Use calipers, protractors, and squares to verify the first-off and subsequent parts for accuracy.
  • Material Handling: Safely load and unload sheets, often using overhead cranes or forklifts for larger trailer sections.

What We Are Looking For

  • Hands-on Experience: Proven track record operating CNC Press Brakes (experience with brands like Amada, Bystronic, or LVD is an advantage).
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read engineering drawings and understand bend allowances and metal tolerances.
  • Math Skills: Strong basic math skills for calculating measurements and adjusting machine back-gauges.
  • Independence: Someone who can work through a cutting list with minimal supervision and troubleshoot minor machine issues.
  • Physical Fitness: Comfortable handling steel plates and working in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Why Apply?

  • A key role within a stable and growing manufacturing company.
  • Competitive pay with overtime available to boost your earnings.
  • Modern workshop environment with high-spec machinery.
