Prime Disaster Response is a growing restoration business supporting insurers, loss adjusters and private clients across London and the South East.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead and develop our field-based restoration team, raise technical standards and support the next stage of our business growth.
You’ll oversee technical performance, team development, resource planning and health and safety across multiple restoration projects. Working closely with the Directors, you’ll also help shape how we operate, improve efficiency and build the team’s capacity to take on more work.
This role suits someone with strong technical expertise and leadership experience who wants genuine responsibility and the opportunity to influence how a growing restoration business operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop field managers and senior technicians
- Maintain and improve technical standards across fire and water damage restoration projects
- Design and deliver structured training programmes, including induction, refresher training and technical upskilling
- Plan and allocate resources across multiple teams and live projects
- Oversee health and safety, risk assessments, method statements and site compliance
- Monitor job profitability, cost control and resource efficiency
- Make informed technical and commercial decisions on complex restoration projects
- Act as a senior technical point of contact for insurers, loss adjusters and other stakeholders
- Work closely with the Directors to support business growth, team capacity and new service capabilities
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment, processes, reporting and scheduling
- Monitor team performance and ensure consistent quality across all projects
What We’re Looking For
- Substantial experience in fire and water damage restoration, insurance repairs or property claims
- Proven experience leading or supervising field-based technical teams
- Strong technical understanding of structural drying, mitigation and restoration methods
- Confidence making technical decisions on complex, high-value claims
- Experience developing people through coaching, training and performance management
- Good understanding of job profitability, cost control and resource planning
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills
- Ability to develop processes, improve efficiency and maintain consistent standards
- A proactive, commercially aware approach to leadership
- Professional and confident when working with insurers, loss adjusters and high-net-worth clients
- Full UK driving licence
- Based within approximately one hour of Watford
BDMA, IICRC (WRT/ASD/FSRT), CSCS or IOSH qualifications would be advantageous.
