Perthyn are a large not‑for‑profit charity who provide support to people with learning disabilities. We deliver person‑centred services, encouraging individuals to live as independently as possible within their home and community.
We are currently recruiting for experienced Female Support Workers to work as part of a team to provide a high standard of person‑centred care to a lady with autism to enable her to learn new skills, promote her independence and develop a valued role within the community.
In this role, you will support her in aspects of daily living such as cooking, cleaning and shopping. You will also help her to engage in social and leisure activities in the community which might include enjoying long walks, attending the local shops, trampolining, going to birthday parties and many other activities. Your manager will work alongside you to help develop your practice and gain an understanding of the service user.
All of our new starters are provided with excellent guidance to help them build a successful career as a Perthyn employee. You will be supported through a comprehensive induction, including shadow shifts, monthly supervisions and in‑depth, quality training.
Experience is essential.
Job Requirements:
- To be able to work a range of shifts including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, and sleep‑ins.
- Fully flexible and adaptable to change.
- Hold a current and valid full UK driving licence and be able to support individuals in the community through the use of own vehicle or individuals' mobility cars.
- Experience in supporting people with autism and challenging behaviours would be essential.
