Battery Storage Engineer in Bristol

Field-based electrical service role working on hybrid battery energy storage systems. The units are containerised systems built around lithium battery banks, inverters, battery management systems, control panels and remote monitoring hardware. They're deployed on construction and infrastructure sites, either replacing diesel generators outright or running alongside them in hybrid mode. Day to day: servicing and maintaining units across both the hire fleet and customer-owned kit, diagnosing electrical faults remotely and on site, commissioning new units, and attending breakdowns where a remote fix hasn't worked. A significant proportion of issues are resolved remotely before anyone travels, so this isn't high-volume reactive work. When the engineer attends, they manage the job end to end. The engineer controls their own diary and logs everything via tablet in Salesforce. The work is electrical, not mechanical - fault-finding on inverter-driven systems, control panels and schematics is the core of the job, not engine and fuel-system work.

THE PATCH

Covering the South West of England. Based in or around Bristol ideally. The patch runs from Gloucester down through Bristol and Bath, south through Taunton and towards Hinkley Point. Travel is paid door to door - the day starts when the engineer leaves the house. Note for search: patch tightened south on Martin's instruction - no reach into Worcestershire or the West Midlands.

PACKAGE

• £40,000 to £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
• Door-to-door pay - travel time counts, paid lunch breaks, full 8-hour day accounted for.
