The training is manufacturer-led and covers the systems you haven't had much time on, and you're given room to learn rather than being expected to know everything on day one. A year from now, you could be a fully multi-skilled engineer, and that's what keeps your options open for the rest of your career.
You'd cover the EX postcodes, servicing and maintaining fire alarms, CCTV, intruder and access control on commercial sites like schools, housing and council buildings. Fault finding is the part they value most, with some commissioning and small works mixed in. You'd share the on-call rota and run your own diary, and now and then you might help out another region.
The company has been going for over 30 years and has around 100 staff. That makes it big enough to fund your training and keep the work steady, without being corporate about it. The people running it came up through the tools.
