We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Flexi Operative.

Reports to: Operational Shift Lead.

Salary: £29,908.29 per annum + 23.5% shift allowance.

Working hours: 42.9 hours. Shifts: 4 days on, 4 days off.

Location: Watson Building, Elsham.

Main Purpose of the Job

The role of the multi‑skilled flexi operative is to ensure all areas—frying, flavouring, packing machines, palletising, and case packing—are performed to specification as outlined in company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the team to keep the relevant zone (process/flavour/packaging/palletising) in control and at a green standard against all metrics (Safety, Quality, Costs and Production Plan Delivery).
  • Operate equipment to the required operating standards safely and cost‑effectively.
  • Complete the required food safety and quality testing throughout the shift to ensure total compliance with standards.
  • Take ownership of the relevant area by keeping it clean, safe to operate and audit‑ready at all times.
  • Take ownership and action of tests and checks that fall outside of standards.
  • Escalate issues around safety, quality, costs or production plan delivery to the team leader or shift engineer.
  • Complete relevant paperwork to the required standards on time and in full.
  • Complete changeovers and clean‑downs to expected standards on time and in full.
  • Maintain a pro‑active approach to safety, quality, costs and production plan delivery by escalating issues and ideas.

KPI / Measures

  • Zero accidents.
  • Zero non‑conformances raised (paperwork, checks/tests).
  • Production plan delivery of 98.5%.
  • Crisps waste below 2.5%.
  • Packing lines giveaway below 1%.
  • Packing lines rejections below 1%.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable.
  • Acceptable level of English comprehension to comply with and understand all verbal and written communication.
  • Numerically literate, able to use a calculator and understand percentages.
  • Ability to identify non‑conformances in the working area.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate all performance issues and opportunities.
  • Good understanding of KPIs and how a factory operates.
