Overview
In this role you will identify and develop new flavour ingredient technologies to enhance taste and health in PepsiCo Foods’ products. You will work within the Flavour Science programme to lead projects and run experiments that translate scientific insight into market-ready prototypes. You will collaborate with R&D peers and external partners to drive innovative solutions aligned with pep+ goals, including sodium reduction initiatives. You will interpret data, report findings, and communicate complex concepts to cross-functional stakeholders to steer development directions. Responsibilities
- Explore and validate new flavour ingredient technologies to improve taste and health in snacks
- Lead day-to-day projects within the Flavour Science programme
- Plan, perform, and analyse experimental studies and trials with project managers
- Interpret results and make data-driven recommendations
- Prepare product prototypes to illustrate technical possibilities and guide development
- Build effective working relationships with R&D partners and non-R&D stakeholders
- Direct ingredient development and selection based on interactions with taste & aroma receptors
- Provide innovative solutions to complex technical issues to meet project objectives
- Apply consumer product testing, sensory, and analytical testing knowledge to deliver superior products
- Engage SMEs and strategic suppliers to maximise project efficiency
- No direct reports but may supervise temporary staff and students
Key requirements
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Food Science with emphasis on Flavour Science
- Strong project management skills
- Self-motivated with results-driven mindset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels
- Good presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical ability with data interpretation to actionable insights
- Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
- High standards, continuous improvement mindset, intellectual curiosity
