Business Automation Developer (AI & Systems Integration) A hands-on, 12-month role turning manual processes into automated workflows, connected systems and AI-assisted tools, on-site in Belfast City Centre, paying £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience.

About the Company Our client is an established Belfast business that wants to change how it works day to day.

Their CTO has set a clear goal: cut out repetitive manual effort, get their existing platforms talking to each other and make practical use of AI across the organisation.

This new role is there to deliver that, working as the CTO's main technical partner on business improvement.

The Role You'll go out into the business, find where time is being lost and build the fix yourself.

One week that could mean connecting two systems that currently depend on manual re-keying.

The next it could mean an AI tool that reads incoming documents and pulls out the key information, or a reporting pipeline that removes a monthly spreadsheet exercise.

You'll take each idea from first conversation to a working, adopted solution, so success is measured by tools people actually use rather than by proofs of concept.

Key Responsibilities Design and deliver automated workflows that remove manual effort from finance, sales, administration and operations.

Connect existing business platforms through APIs and integrations so data flows between them without manual handling.

Evaluate where AI can add real value and build practical tools around it, including document processing and information extraction.

Pull together data from multiple sources using SQL to support reporting and analysis.

Develop dashboards and automate recurring reports so teams get the information they need without chasing it.

Work with colleagues across departments to understand their pain points and translate them into technical solutions.

Test, deploy and support what you build, making sure it is reliable and adopted by the people it was built for.

Act as a hands-on technical partner to the CTO, shaping the automation and AI roadmap as it develops.

What You'll Need A track record of building automations, workflows, integrations or internal business tools is essential, and the single most important thing we are looking for.

Background in automation, software development, business systems or a similar technical role is essential.

Confidence working with APIs, databases and SQL, including combining data from different sources, is essential.

Ability to understand a business requirement and independently deliver a working solution is essential.

Clear communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical colleagues are essential.

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate, is highly advantageous, though candidates from other development or automation backgrounds are equally welcome.

Experience with Azure or the wider Microsoft technology stack is a strong advantage.

Genuine interest in applying AI to everyday business problems is a strong advantage.

Curiosity and resourcefulness when getting to grips with unfamiliar systems and technologies is desirable.

Why Apply?

Real ownership: you'll spot the problems, design the solutions and see them through to adoption.

You'll work directly with the CTO, so your ideas get seen at senior level.

There's a wide variety of work across finance, sales, operations and admin, with AI built into the brief.

You can bring your own tooling background, as the client cares about results more than a specific platform.

You'll be on-site in Belfast City Centre, working closely with the teams you're building for.

The salary is £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, on a 12-month contract.

Note For Applicants All candidates must be currently residing in NI and have full UK Right to Work.

Visa Sponsorship for this role is not provided.
