An exciting opportunity has arrived to join our Marine Team as an Internal Account Manager.

This role will have responsibility for the building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the customer is at the centre and heart of what we do, understanding customer needs and expectations, and delivering exceptional service levels
  • Ensure a proactive sales culture is maintained at all times.
  • Generates ideas about future trade activities to ensure a cutting-edge strategy; maintains up to date knowledge of the marketplace, industry, competitors, and trends
  • Obtains and actively manages relationships with long term key customers by comprehending their requirements, whilst playing an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant meetings to widen knowledge and support customers.
  • Maintain technical product knowledge to provide customers with the best, most accurate information possible.
  • Manage customer accounts, ranging from chandleries to OEMs, with the aim of maximising sales opportunities with each of our channel partners.
  • Create, and deliver against, a strategic territory sales plan, developing new opportunities, driving sales, and exceeding company and supplier expectations.
  • Proactively make outbound calls, to promote the brand and product ranges.
  • Use sales analysis tools to track customer performance, develop insight into supplier opportunities and maximise regional sales performance.
  • Work closely with our Regional Depots and Customer Service teams, along with other departments, and demonstrate excellent teamwork, problem solving skills and innovation to help us deliver a world class customer service offering.
  • Compile regular customer and sales analysis reports and make supplier and product recommendations from market feedback.
  • Represent our Company at Trade Exhibitions and Boat Shows.
  • Your ability to be flexible, adaptable and open to new challenges.
  • Analysis of sales performance, trends and identifying business opportunities using analytical software.
  • To obtain and report on competitor intelligence and industry trends.

Skills and Experience

  • A self-starter able to work unsupervised.
  • Has a proactive approach to sales.
  • Have experience in sales & account management.
  • Marine sector knowledge or boating experience desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Confident to exchange with a variety of customers/suppliers both face to face and over the phone.
  • Strong writing ability and email etiquette.
  • IT Skills – Microsoft Packages.
  • Customer orientated with an aptitude for Sales & Customer Service.
  • Full UK Driver License – (Desirable)
