Locum Speech and Language Therapist Location: East London - Plaistow, Eastham or Forest Gate Rate: 30 per hour Contract: September to February, with potential for extension Hours: Part-time - 2 days per week Benefits Part-time 2-day-per-week locum opportunity. Contract from September to February, with potential for extension. Work across supportive mainstream school settings in East London. Varied caseload including autism and mainstream pupils. Opportunity to work across two schools, providing consistency and continuity for pupils. About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Locum Speech and Language Therapist to join a well-established service supporting children and young people across mainstream schools in East London. The role is for 2 days per week, starting in September and running through to February, with the potential for the contract to continue. You will work across two schools in total, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils, families and school staff. The Role - Locum Speech and Language Therapist You will support a varied caseload across mainstream education settings, working with children with: Autism Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) General mainstream caseloads A range of developmental speech and language needs Key Responsibilities Manage a paediatric caseload across mainstream schools. Complete assessments and provide appropriate therapy interventions. Support children with autism and a range of speech, language and communication needs. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers and other professionals. Provide advice and recommendations to school staff. Maintain accurate clinical records and reports. Contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people. Requirements HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist. Previous paediatric Speech and Language Therapy experience. Experience working within school or education settings. Experience supporting children with autism is desirable. Strong communication and organisational skills.
