The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.
You will be employed by the nursery to work in the nursery and may from time to time be assigned to different rooms and/or work in different teams, if the nursery is closed, for example, for 2 days. All post holders must be aware that they may on occasion be subject to the behaviour of unruly children or disruptive adults, and must comply with the nursery policies. Post-holders may be occasionally exposed to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. It is important to be aware of our policies and procedures and strictly follow them.
To be punctual and reliable is a must for the continuity of the children and the smooth running of the nursery setting. Please refer to and comply with the Company’s Code of Conduct, which will be subject to amendments or changes every year as this will form part of your Terms and Conditions.
Job Purpose
- To prepare and maintain healthy eating menus for all children attending the nursery, making amendments when considering children’s allergies and food preferences.
- To keep a safe, clean, tidy, and attractive environment for the children at all times, including the overall kitchen, all cupboards, preparation areas, and dining rooms.
- To regularly liaise with the line managers and share information as necessary whilst forming sound relationships with all team members.
- To become fully involved in the work of the Nursery by contributing to the care and education of the children.
- To be active in supporting and monitoring the Food Standard Agency Rating’s profile and requirements.
Main duties
- To work in partnership with the Management to ensure the preparation and delivery of a balanced and healthy diet for the children.
- To take time out to read and familiarise yourself with all our Policies and Procedures in compliance with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health - Food Safety, Health and Safety, and within the guidelines of Ofsted/CSIW and the National Standards.
- To observe and comply with the company dress code at all times:
- Hair to be tied back if touching your collar (nets may be provided).
- No nail varnish.
- No rings with the exception of the wedding band.
- Apron and appropriate head covering to be worn.
- No open toe shoes to be worn in the kitchen.
- Clean uniform & clothes at all times.
