This is a real development role. You’ll start in CAD document control, and over two years you’ll be trained up to a full CAD Supervisor running your own projects and external CAD bureaus. You don’t need to be a CAD technician. Our client doesn’t produce drawings in-house. Their bureaus do the drafting, and you’ll learn enough CAD and MEP to check and challenge that work and manage it to approved construction issue. Year 1: Document control and process * Learn the basics of drawing management across mechanical, electrical and public health services: title blocks, numbering, revisions, symbols, scales and drawing types * Upload and track drawings in Procore, keep registers and metadata accurate, and take each drawing from review to Status A Construction * Issue submissions to client document management systems and keep a full audit trail of transmittals and responses * Help the CAD Managers run the drawing approval process in Procore, covering workflows, reviewers, deadlines and escalation * Produce the weekly CAD position report for the business * From months 6 to 12, get trained in point cloud scanning, from planning and safe collection through to data checks and handover Year 2: Into supervision * Learn CAD basics and how drawings and models are structured, checked and coordinated * Build your MEP knowledge through site visits, coordination meetings and time with the project teams * Supervise your own packages, from instructing the bureau through internal checks, client submission and approval to construction issue * Monitor bureau delivery, resources, programme and quality, and flag risks early Training and progression * All training is delivered in-house by experienced CAD Managers * You’ll have formal reviews at 2, 4, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months, against a clear training plan with set objectives and KPIs * The aim is promotion to CAD Supervisor at the end of year two * You can put forward relevant external courses for the company to approve What we’re looking for * Very organised and detail-focused. You like keeping registers and records accurate and up to date * Confident with systems and data. Experience with Procore or a document management system is a bonus * A clear communicator, comfortable reporting progress and raising issues * A genuine interest in construction, building services or CAD * Background in document control, project administration, or a technical or construction-related course or apprenticeship would suit, but attitude and aptitude matter most Why apply? You’ll get a defined two-year career path with proper structure, internal mentoring and a real promotion at the end. It’s a rare chance to move into the technical side of MEP delivery without needing CAD experience on day one. To apply or find out more, contact George at Linea Group
