Key Purpose of the Job: Servicing and maintaining fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with the current British Standards and manufacturers requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintenance and repairs of all types of Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting and Life Safety systems including Nurse call systems, AOV systems and Interface system with all the many aspects of Life safety and security.
  • Working towards and exceeding maintenance and fault-finding targets.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Be part of an On Call Rota for out of hours callouts and telephone support.
  • Understanding the clients' needs and fulfilling all jobs required.
  • The post holder will ensure the health, safety, and welfare of themselves and their team in accordance with the Company Policy.
  • Carry out remedial works and extensive repairs as required on all types of life safety systems.

Essential requirements for the Job:

  • Strong background and knowledge within Fire Security.
  • GENT & Advanced Fire Alarm systems knowledge is desirable.
  • Excellent first-time resolution & risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proven background and experience of working within fire engineering.
  • Experience of undertaking service, repair work.
  • Experience of conventional and addressable fire systems across a range of manufacturers equipment.
  • Good installation practices.
  • Knowledge of integration of detection systems into other disciplines would be a real advantage.
  • Full understanding to BS5839 is essential.
  • Full driving license.
  • FIA commissioning accreditations.

Preferred FIA Modules Held by Applicant:

  • FD & A Unit 1
  • FD & A Unit 2
  • FD & A Advanced Installer
  • FD & A Advanced Designer
  • FD & A Advanced Commissioner

Desirable requirements for the Job:

  • VESDA & Other Aspirating manufacturers is desirable.
  • Electrical background.

Training: Further development training will be provided to the right applicant.
